Jesus tells us to abide in Him. That’s not a word we use much today, but it speaks of us drawing near to Him in a way that depends upon Him. Abiding with Him means living aware of our union with Christ. It refers to us seeking to deepen that union. Jesus says apart from Him, we can do nothing. We won’t bear fruit. We won’t survive.

As a church, we spent the first few months of this year seeking to learn what it means to abide and reading together through Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life, by Donald S. Whitney.

One thing we learned through this journey is that it continues, even after the book is closed and placed back on the shelf.

As you continue to abide in Jesus, refer here to all the articles that Karis elders and leaders wrote.

Don’t stop abiding. Let’s continue to draw near to our Lord. Let’s repeatedly draw from His well as we seek to follow Him and serve Him.
